About

Hello! I'm Sarah Summers, a Registered Nutritional Therapist & Health Coach

I can help you get a handle on getting older without feeling controlled by your ragey mid-life hormones, even if you feel like you’ve tried everything to understand what is happening to you before now.

I’m a passionate believer that women are in their prime of life in their 40s and beyond, and amazing things can happen when you prioritise your wellbeing through good food and a good dose of self-love!

You don’t need a privileged life to feel like you’re living your best mid-life; I can show you how to fall in love with real food, increase your food palate and not restrict it, without feeling like you are going through a major overhaul!

I know what it's like!

My hormones have always been a challenge. I suffered from school all the way to my 40s, with a medical history that may resonate with some. Severe menstrual cramps, endometritis, and ovarian cysts, the solution always being to put me on the pill.

Until, at 42, I found a lump in my breast, and was diagnosed with breast cancer, suddenly the pill was no longer an option, and I was facing chemotherapy and major surgery instead.  To top it all off I had serious complications during treatment and was given a chemical menopause at 43 in order to complete my cancer treatment plan.

This was a life changing moment for me, I decided it was time to start taking control of my hormone health to stay healthy for the long term and also to address the awful symptoms I was experiencing from my chemical menopause.  I explored healthy eating, learnt to create nutritious meals from scratch, which, after years of microwave meals, was a game changer in my health.

In 2015, six months after my cancer treatment finished, I signed up to study nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine.  It was then I discovered the undeniable science linking hormones and nutrition, and the unquestionable fact that you literally are what you eat!

Food as medicine

I qualified as a registered Nutritional Therapist in 2018, and I’m now a member of the British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and I’m registered with the Complementary & Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I’ve also gone on to train as a Nutri Advanced Peri-menopause Practitioner and a Mental Health First Aider.  I’m also licensed to deliver the Cytoplan Brian Health programme and I am a LifeCode GX Nutrigenomics Practitioner.  All of these skills are honed around the fact that our hormones touch every area of our wellbeing, and that good health requires a holistic, whole person approach

I'm a firm believer in practicality

Your food choices need to fit your lifestyle, and I very much take that into account by helping you reach your health goals in achievable, sustainable, and empowering ways.

I like to take an evidence-based approach when devising personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans for my clients, using reputable laboratory tests that are devised to show how our bodies and our hormones are behaving, so if you’re a facts and figures kind of person, this will be great for you!

My approach to nutrition is also one of eating with the seasons.  With a focus on local and organic produce, that is good for your health, better for the environment, and better for your wallet too.

Let's get to work on your peri-menopause health!

If you feel that now is the time to act and take charge of your hormones, then I would love to hear from you.

The next step is easy, and it’s completely complimentary, book in for a mini consultation call with me, so we can get to know each other, and dive deeper into what help and support you’re looking for, and I will explain how together, we can get you back to feeling like the real you!
